Warhammer 40k stuff. Images of models painted/ converted by Dr Porkov!
Tau Stealthsuit unit
Here is a unit of three Tau stealthsuits that I finished recently. Two Shas'ui and one Shas'vre armed with a fusion blaster.
I'll probably take a little break from building/ painting Tau models, as I've got some Dark Angels to build/ paint up in the form of a Land Raider Redeemer (to be painted up for the Deathwing), a Devastator squad, as well as a Nephilim flyer and two Whirlwinds. Another factor that will delay further building of Tau models is to strip/ unbuild some previously painted models, as well as repair some Crisis battlesuits to make regular battlesuits and two Broadsides.
So, last week, I ended up finishing off the last two Imperial Knights that will make up the Renegade faction. The fist one was painted blue in honour of Tzeentch and the other one in colours like those of the Legion Death Guard. I have not done any alterations yet, as I am still figuring out what to do on that front, apart from maybe putting some Chaos vehicle spiky bits on the models in the future fpr a more Chaos-like appearance.
Next, I got my hands on some of the new GW Sector Imperialis round bases (a pack of the 32mm ones and a pack of the 25mm & 40mm bases) and I have tried my hand at painting up one sprue's worth of the 32mm bases. Here is the end result.
Finally, some future upcoming projects will be a Leviathan Dreadnought and Mortarion for the Death Guard 30k Legion - these should be the last two models to finish that off! Then, I try to get to work on some Khorne Daemons, Skaven or Skitarii.
Well, it has been a while since I last posted but I managed to get some more painting/ building time, due to having this week off work.
Firstly, let's start with Skitarii/ Mechanicus models. I finished off the last two vehicles that completed the second battle maniple of my purple Skitarii and started on the Kataphron Breacher units. As the models are done, the Skitarii infantry have now been boxed, awaiting battle when the new edition of 40k comes out in just over 2 weeks time.
Now, as GW recently released Shadow Wars: Armageddon, I have tried out using Skitarii as a kill-team with decent results. I have now boxed the infantry up, I am taking unused models and doing them up in a different colour scheme to tell the difference between which ones are being used for what system. I painted up a model in dark green just to see what it looks like.
I also, on a bit of a whim, bought a box of Ork boys to create another kill-team, as no-one else in my local gaming club used Orks and I am g…
So, there is light at the end of the tunnel, in terms of completing the Blood Angel and Dark Angel battle companies, as I have now finished six tactical squads for each, just about finished two devastator squads for each and just have the assault marines and other extras to do.
I have also had a thought about doing up a second Ravenwing bike squad, with both special weapon guys armed with grav guns and a sergeant armed with a thunder hammer. Here is a simple conversion I did to give the two main bikers the grav guns. The sergeant will come later, once he is built and painted.
Finally, I got my hands on the Age of Sigmar box recently and have started doing up the Stormcast Eternal models. I decided on golden armour with purple, as per the Lions of Sigmar, as I do tend to have quite a few other models with purple on them (Tyranids & Necrons!). The dull gold effect was attempted by painting the armour in Leadbelcher, then washing with Seraphim Sepia - an effect I have used on other m…
