6th edition 40k has come

So, I now have the sixth edition Warhammer 40,000 rulebook in my hands - a big 450 page, 1.9 kilogram hardback tome. Well, from what I have read, things will be different - flyers will try to dominate the skies, many more weapons will fire, charging into combat will be less predictable and could happen from a bit further away, vehicles can be 'glanced' to death, the 2+ armour save will be more sacred in close combat and you may have to pick some of your close combat fights more carefully. There are many other twists and tweaks that will keep 40k players occupied with for the next four years (when 7th edition will probably come along). Luckily some things that I was fearing could have happened have not but can someone find a way of getting rid of those who keep trying to ban you from using certain weapons because they don't fit into their 'meta' or 'metagame' - I'm sorry but what right does the 'meta' have to say that I can't use flamers or plasma weapons and I have to use melta instead?
The new sets of psychic powers seems to be a bit confusing, in terms of how many powers each psyker can use and what disciplines they can use outside of a sheet that comes with the pack of psychic cards and the most recent White Dwarf - It doesn't say anything about it in the main rule book. I suppose the mist will become clearer when the dedicated codices come out.
Well, it has happened, it is here and thankfully, it's not merely round-based Warhammer 8th edition (which only has two more years to go). There will be things you'll have to learn that you can now do that you couldn't previously, other things you used to be able to do but can't now and you'll have to learn about new things that are new to this edition. So, go and take your models, form them into armies, fight your battles and do what is best to crumple your opponents into dust.

On the models front, I'm making progress in trying again in re-building my Necron Triarch Stalker to get it right this time, a unit of 5 Immortals is almost finished (apart from which arms go with certain models) and I'm half way through building a unit of six Canoptek Wraiths.
